Guiding on the lakes, rivers, and saltwater of Charlotte County since 1994 — 30+ years spent doing what I love, so you can too.
About
Justin Barrett has been guiding since 1994 — over 30 years spent on the water and in the woods of Charlotte County. The outdoors isn't a side interest, it's what he lives for: hunting and fishing have been his life's work and his life's passion in equal measure.
What you get is as real as it gets. Justin puts his time and effort into what he loves, and that shows up in every trip — his goal, plain and simple, is a happy client who had a great day on the water or in the field.
What We Offer
From ice-out to the fall rut, we run trips across fishing and hunting — tailored to your experience level and what's biting.
Half and full-day trips for up to 3 anglers across Charlotte County's lakes — Lake Utopia, Clear Lake, Little Long Lake, Victoria Lake, Digdeguash Lake, Sparks Lake, Red Rock Lake, Chamcook Lake, McDougall Lake, West/East Branch, Grand Falls Flowage, and Woodland Flowage. Target smallmouth, pickerel, largemouth, sunfish, fall fish, chub, yellow and white perch, brook trout, lake trout, and landlocked salmon. Boat, rods, lures, bait, and PFDs are all provided, and accommodations can be arranged if requested — just bring appropriate clothing, a hat, sunglasses, and your own snacks and drinks.

Early-season sturgeon fishing at Sturgeon Alley, out of Meenan's Cove, running April through May before the lake season even opens. A rare chance to tangle with one of the region's biggest and most prehistoric fish.

July – September · Max 2
Striper fishing on the Miramichi River, running mid-April through June. This one runs by request — we need a few groups booked back-to-back to make the trip worthwhile for both you and the guide, so get in touch with your group and preferred dates and we'll help coordinate.
Mid-April – June · By Request
Saltwater trips for up to 4 people, leaving from the Deer Island Ferry Landing, Beaver Harbour, or Blacks Harbour. Target mackerel, perch, pollock, cod, cunners, flounder, and dogfish from July through September — a great outing for a group of friends or a family sightseeing trip.
July – September · Max 4Spring bear hunts run May through June and fall hunts run September through November, by rifle or bow (bow only during moose season in the fall). Stands are ready to go, and accommodations at Barrett House are included.
Spring & Fall
Guided moose hunts run during the last full week of September, through whichever wildlife management zone you're drawn for. Barrett House works well as a base if you draw Zone 20 — for zones farther out, we'll arrange accommodations that make sense for that area.
Last Week of September
Deer hunting is available across archery, rifle, and muzzleloader seasons — get in touch for exact dates. Accommodations at Barrett House are included.

The Waters
We fish the lakes, rivers, and coastal waters of Charlotte County and beyond — from quiet inland lakes to the tidal run at Reversing Falls and the open waters of the Bay of Fundy.
Sturgeon fishing opens at Meenan's Cove in April, Miramichi striper trips can be arranged by request from mid-April, lake fishing gets going as the ice comes off, and spring bear season runs May into June.
Peak season on the lakes, plus the striper run at Reversing Falls (and on the Miramichi by request through June) and saltwater trips out of Deer Island, Beaver Harbour, and Blacks Harbour — all running July through September.
Saltwater and striper fishing wind down into September, moose season runs the last week of September, fall bear hunting continues through November, and deer hunting runs across archery, rifle, and muzzleloader seasons.
Ice fishing is available on Charlotte County lakes that are open for the season — a good way to stay on the water through the colder months.
